"I love kindergarten. It's my favorite place in the world." -'09-'10 student
WELCOME!
Fredrick Froebel, the founder of kindergarten, describes kindergarten as a "child's garden." He says, "Children are like tiny flowers; they are varied and need care, but each is beautiful alone and glorious when seen in the community of peers."
Kindergarten is a special year full of exploration, discovery, and learning. I look forward to sharing this year of growth with your child.

About Me
I grew up in the pacific northwest near Seattle, Washington, where most of my family still resides. Following in my parents footsteps I attended college in the northwestern part of the state in beautiful Bellingham, Washington. I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology in 2003. After graduating with my undergraduate degree I moved to Colorado where I taught 2nd and 3rd grade. Before getting too settled in my teaching career I decided to take a year off to travel with my husband. We explored South America from Peru down the western coast to the southern tip of Patagonia, learning Spanish, hiking, volunteering, and immersing ourselves in a culture quite different from our own. Upon returning from South America, I worked as a general park ranger for the summer in the remote southwest corner of Yellowstone (Bechler) alongside my husband, Jamie, who is a park ranger here in Yellowstone. This will be my fourth year teaching kindergarten in West Yellowstone and I am staying very busy taking classes toward my master’s degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy.
I love anything to do with the outdoors. Some of my hobbies include hiking, biking, boating, camping, and skiing. This is partly why I enjoy living in West Yellowstone.
My family is a very important aspect in my life. My father is a high school physics teacher and has modeled for me the kind of teacher I strive to be through his love, dedication, patience, and hard work.
